27th Annual TV Preview: New Shows by Media Company (Ad-Supported) | FOX

FALL PREMIERE

This musical drama was delayed from its scheduled debut in January due to unavoidable realities of the pandemic. It has become Fox Entertainment’s top priority and is set to premiere post NFL in early September. Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon (Thelma and Louise) stars alongside multi-Platinum country music star and three-time Academy of Country Music Award winner, Trace Adkins. The premise: power couple Dottie and Albie Roman have created a country music dynasty together. In addition to watching the family find out the harsh truths behind their family’s success, viewers can also expect to see top grade musical performances. Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) plays the heir to the family fortune, who will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy while in pursuit of her own stardom. 

 

MIDSEASON REPLACEMENTS

 

ACCUSED

This is a courtroom-based drama where viewers know nothing about the crime, as it’s told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks. Emmy and Golden Globe winner Michael Chiklis (The Shield) guest-stars in the premiere episode as Dr. Scott Corbett, a successful brain surgeon with a seemingly perfect family. He then faces internal struggles when he discovers his teenage son may be planning a violent attack at school. Later in the season, Marlee Matlin (CODA), Billy Porter (Pose) and Michael Chiklis each direct episodes, as different stories are told. 

ALERT

A police drama centered around the LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit, viewers will follow police officer Nikki Parker, who joins the LAMPU when her son goes missing. Six years after his disappearance, she is told he may still be alive. The heartache of her search as well as other families of missing persons becomes the forefront in this heart-pounding drama from executive producer Jamie Foxx (Ray) and John Eisendrath (The Blacklist). 

GORDON RAMSAY’S FOOD STARS

Another unscripted show by award-winning chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay, as he heads a brand-new competition series, where he puts the contestants in all kinds of challenging situations, both inside and outside of the kitchen. In this iteration, Ramsay will reward the winner with an investment to take their culinary ideas to the next level. 

GRIMSBURG

All-new animated series starring Emmy Award winner Jon Hamm (Mad Men), who is a detective who seemingly can solve all mysteries while trying to redeem himself with his ex-wife and son. 

KRAPOPOLIS

Set in Ancient Greece and centered around a flawed family of humans, gods, and monsters as they try to run one of the world’s first cities… without killing each other.
